Winner of ‘Operator of the Year’.

We are delighted to announce that FPG picked up ‘Operator of the Year’  at Property Week’s Student Accommodation Awards in London on 12th December.  We thought we would share why we won this top prize in Student Accommodation.

At Fresh Property Group we take great buildings and turn them into great places to live. More than just a place to stay, our friendly Accommodation Teams work hard to provide a home from home. With a 90% overall customer satisfaction rating, and 93% overall management rating, we’re confident we’ve got things right.

Student-centric Environments

Student accommodation standards have come a long way. At Fresh we are proud to lead the way, offering advice and consultancy services to our Clients to ensure their buildings are as amazing as possible, right from the design phase.

This year, we worked with our Clients to ensure sites are specially designed to develop a sense of belonging for students.  Our open-plan reception spaces and social areas enhance the community feel, aid communication and ensure our Accommodation Teams are as accessible and approachable as possible.

We also want to ensure that our students can work hard and play hard, so we have top-notch study and social facilities – we achieved a 92% Satisfaction Rating with our Learning Environments and an 88% Rating for our Availability of Communal Spaces. This includes: virtual gyms allowing students access to a range of different classes; on-site shops; communal dining facilities which allow students to host dinner parties with their friends; individual work stations for private study; and even a karaoke machine.

We also feel it’s important for our students to give back to the community – from participating in ‘Helpful Peeps’ where students were encouraged to volunteer in their local area, to donations to local food banks, animal centres, and the British Heart Foundation.

Excellent Customer Services

The key element to our success is the calibre of our people. They really care about providing the very best customer service. The transition to university is a big change, and we know that some students need a little extra support. This year all of our Accommodation Teams have completed Mental Health Training with our charity partner Young Minds.

We create an experience that makes our buildings feel like a “home from home”. Through our weekly social events and parties, from freebie Fridays and ‘speed-friending’ to cinema nights and charity fundraising, we make sure our students feel part of the Fresh family.

Over 40% of our tenants areInternational and to meet their needs we provided all Accommodation Teams with smartphones, to enable us to offer Skype viewings. We also launched a Chinesemicrosite and Weibo and Wechat accounts to ensure that we can communicate with our Chinese students effectively. With a 95%Communication satisfaction rating, we’re clearly getting it right.

Latest in Digital and IT Infrastructure

To support our continued growth, we launched a new staff training system, Litmos, which allows all of our teams to complete online training modules on everything from maximising sales to monitoring health & safety.

We also introduced an internal social networking tool, Yammer, which has been a fantastic way of exchanging ideas, celebrating achievements, sharing best practice and offering support to our teams across the UK and Ireland.

The launch of a new innovative app for our Marketing Suites brought the buildings to life before they were finished. This allowed students to explore 3D floorplans with up-to-date availability, look at photos, and see journey times to campus and other useful places on the map, all on a user-friendly app on iPad or Smart TV.

As proud members of ANUK, we commit to maintaining professional standards. We embrace and exceed these values using our Internal Quality Assurance framework that ensures our schemes share the same unique approach to service. We even create some friendly rivalry with our Fresh Factor Awards, where our teams battle it out to be crowned the best scheme!

Range of Rental Options

At Fresh we are proud to offer our students a choice of rooms and price points so they can find their perfect room. For example, in Bailey Fields in Sheffield, we offer a choice of 10 room types ranging from a Bronze en-suite at £130pw to a Premium Duplex at £235pw. In Glasgow (and nearby Paisley) we offer a range of en-suite and studio rooms in 6 locations ranging from £83pw to £224pw.

We remove any hidden extras too; with bills, internet and contents insurance all included in the rent, meaning our students only have one cost to worry about. But we are firm believers that it’s our committed approach to creating a home from home that offers the best added-value of all.
